The Role and the Candidate

As a Web Developer & Designer you are working on the various frontends of our web-based tools and products, including Netbiscuits Mobile Analytics. Your main objective is to achieve a best-in-class user experience across several device classes (e.g. Smartphones, Tablets, PCs etc.) by utilizing technologies like RWD and RESS.
You combine advanced design skills and solid experience in developing web interfaces with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. You support Product Management in creating wireframes by utilizing your deep knowledge in UX and UI principles. Based on those wireframes (mostly build with Balsamiq), you then create an attractively looking and reliably working web interfaces.
As part of an international team of experienced developers you are utilizing Scrum as agile methodology to develop our software. You are also in close contact with internal and external users and you get the time to look for new trends and technologies in Web Development.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

• Design & development of state-of-the-art web sites and web applications capable of adapting content to different types of devices and browsers
• Actively contribute to improving the overall user experience of the company’s cloud products
• Implementation of experimental prototypes to demonstrate features in conceptual stages
• Research and evaluation of new trends and techniques in web development
• Information exchange with internal and external users

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Expertise

• Excellent skills in designing complex, application-like web interfaces that are adaptive to different devices and browsers
• Excellent knowledge in developing web interfaces with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
• Proven experience in working with Twitter Bootstrap and other popular client-side frameworks and tools like jQuery (Mobile), YUI, Modernizr, AngularJS, node.js and HTML5 Boilerplate
• Practical expertise in concepts like Progressive Enhancement and Responsive Web Design
• Broad knowledge about web standards and protocols
• Creativity and high level of self-motivation
• Diligence, reliability and excellent analytical skills
• Passion for the innovative field of web development for multiple device types
• Optional: Experience in working with server-side technologies like PHP, Java, .NET, Ruby on Rails etc.
• Optional: Experience in working with WordPress and other content management systems
